Pay Per Click Dilemma

If you’ve been using Pay Per Click (PPC) to generate traffic to your site, what I’m going to share with you here is probably something you’ve encountered in the past, something you’re facing now or something you might be facing in the future. And you got to decide nonetheless. I called it the ‘PPC dilemma’ and here’s what it’s all about…

When I first got my hand on PPC, all I had in mind was to use it as a promotional tool to promote an affiliate program. That’s where my interest lies and as I toil further down the line, a question was bugging me:

“Why not use it to promote your own product instead of product of others?”

Tell you what…that question makes a LOT of sense!

And the immediate payoff from that is you got to keep ALL the profit - minus the PPC campaign cost of course. But you keep all the profit. That’s the bottom line.

Now, if you think I’ll straight away jump and pause or delete my current PPC campaign, well heck! I wish I can do that but there’s another ‘bugging’ question:

“Would like to go through the hassle of customizing the offer, create a download page, thank you page, etc.?”

Hell NO! I would rather spend all those ‘customizing’ times to write and tweak my ads. But I know that’s just one way to look at it.

And that’s what I meant by PPC dilemma. It is a dilemma isn’t it?

This dilemma is like water - sea, pool, river, whatever and people get drowned in them not because they didn’t know how to swim BUT they stayed in the water too long. I got a feeling that I’m about to get drowned in this dilemma and I MUST not stay for too long.

(Just a silly question: How long is too long?)

I must DECIDE to get myself out of this. I must make it clear WHEN and WHY to use PPC - to promote an affiliate program OR to promote my own Resale Rights.

You know what, personally, one of the best way to help me makes my decision is to TEST. And that’s exactly what I’m doing now. Hope I can swim out of this ‘PPC dilemma water’ soon before I get drowned.

Maybe not…

Before I jump into the core of this message, allow me to paint the background.

Until today, I have yet to come across a really outstanding Resale Rights offer or Affiliate Program and products. ‘Really outstanding’ in my dictionary means the one that converts well thus pays well. It’s hard to find it these days. Agree?

So, can I assume that I’m not the ONLY one who face this challenge?

Big Change For Resellers Who Use eBay.

If you’re using eBay to sell your Resale Rights products and your customers have to digitally download them, heads up because there’s a big change for resellers who use eBay for that purpose.

News had it that soon eBay will no longer allow selling of digitally download product EXCEPT through their classified ads.

Now, I’m not a big auction site fan (which includes eBay) even though I’ve sold a few info products through our local Lelong.com auction site but I know many reseller folks are worshipping auction site like crazy.

That goes extra to John Tornhill of Planet SMS follower ;)

What does this change means to our folks?

I’ve contacted some of these avid ‘eBayers’ and they seem not to be bothered by this. Why? Maybe they’ve already engaged in other ways of making money online and not solely depending on eBay to market their digital products.

Most (if not all) are reselling digital info-products.

So, I strongly suggest the other folks to ‘diversified’. Selling info-product through auction site with the right methods had been proven profitable but looks like it’s going to be in the PAST tense.

When the change takes place, like I use to hear them say,” One door closed, another one opened.”

The best thing about making profit with resale rights is that the reseller has total control over the whole deal. Unlike affiliate marketer, a reseller makes profit immediately after a sale is secured and there’s no two weeks or one month waiting period to get the commission.

This doesn’t mean that affiliate marketing is a less profitable venture than selling resale rights. It just means better control and faster profit.

It is important to note that, even with the promises of better control and faster profit, not all resellers had the same kind of experience. They might have total control but most of the time, they’re short on profit.
